Prohibition Era Cocktails: The Bacardi Cocktail Drink Recipe for the 1920's.

How to make the classic Bacardi Cocktail from the Prohibition Era.
This drink was very popular in Florida during Prohibition because it was so close to Cuba.

The Bacardi Cocktail was the same as the Daiquiri, until a lawsuit changed the name. The drink contains the Rum, Lime and Sugar. There is a red version of the Bacardi that started in the United States and this uses Grenadine.











1917 Version of the Bacardi Cocktail• 1 drink Bacardi Rum
• 1/2 of the juice of a fresh lime
• 2 dashes Gum Syrup  (Sugar Syrup)

Shake well in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Strain and serve.

US Bacardi Cocktail Recipe:
Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz light rum (Bacardi)
• 1 /2 oz Fresh lime juice
• 3 dashes of grenadine

Procedure:Shake well in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice.
Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
