Prohibition Era Cocktail Drinks: The "Mary Pickford" Recipe, a popular Cuban cocktail in the Roaring 20's.

How to make the Mary Pickford Cocktail drink from the Prohibition Era.

Mary Pickford and her husband, Douglas Fairbanks, the golden-haired Mary Pickford was at the highest spot of the first generation of movie royalty.  This cocktail honors her and comes from 1920's Cuba. A it helped to make rum more popular.
And was a inspiration for many Tiki or Tropical cocktails with it's use of rum and pineapple juice, a main ingredient in many tiki and tropical cocktails today.

Mary Pickford Recipe:
Ingredients
• 1 1/2 oz white rum (Bacardi, Cruzan, etc.)
• 1 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
• 1/2 teaspoon grenadine
• 1/8 oz marashino


Procedure:
Shack ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice until cold.
Pour and strain  cocktail into chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
