Prohibition Era Cocktails: The "French 75" Recipe and drink historic information.

How to make the "French 75" Prohibition Era cocktail with recipe and historic information.

The French 75, a wonderful vintage cocktail, got it's name from the famous World War I big artillery gun. The French 75 is a classic cocktail drink that was invented during the Prohibition Era.

"French 75" Recipe:
Ingredients

• 1 ½ oz London Dry Gin

(Gordon's London Dry, Tanqueray London Dry, Bombay Sapphire, Monkey Gland Broker's, etc.)

• 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice

• 3/4 oz simple syrup (bar syrup, sugar water)

• chilled champagne to top off


Mixing Procedure:
Shake in a cocktail shaker until cold and frosty with cracked ice.

Strain the mixture in a highball glass with cracked ice.

Top off this cocktail with a chilled champagne.

Garnish with Lemon and or a cherry.
